Overview
Humanist movement is an international volunteer organization that works to reject all the forms of racism, prejudice and believes in respecting and protecting for all everyone human rights.The visit to rusinga humanist school was to create that good team work and practicing the Silo mentality of team work and also bench marking .with a safe and supportive environment where we can socialize, learn new skills, and build positive relationships as humanist. The visit featured a variety of activities tailored to the interests and needs of children in school and the orphanage. We saw this in different department and activities like art work ,games ,interactive seminars and educational sessions on topics such as health, wellness and wellbeing and personal development.
Humanist island of hope school and orphanage is community organization that created a diverse and engaging program to nature the community in being humanist and also creating a safe place for vulnerable children and orphans. The goal is to encourage community to participate in constructive and enjoyable environment for any human by seeing the world a better place for everyone that will promote physical and mental well-being, teamwork, creativity, and personal growth. Rusinga hope humanist school was started to bring hope to the people living at the island and seeing the world a better and safer space by huminzing the world to everyone even for those who live at the middle of lake Victoria waters.
Introduction
Rusinga hope humanist school was started in 2005 with 40 pupils today they have a total of 476 pupils from both kindergarten to high school and a total of 1000 in the program some are in other schools.Some are day schoolers while those that are in orphanage program are borders.
Our host Dana Feminova ,Simona ,the director Kennedy Okongo gave us a warm reception at the Humanist school by giving an interactive introduction about the school background where Dana and Kennedy met and they both had a vision and a heart of humanist work where they joined hands to start the school together .Rose Neema , Dorothy Adenga and Maurine Chepchumba did a brief introduction too about their humanist work and engagement in school thus having same vision of humanist work
